It was a while ago that I was able to capture scenes on the streets.
When I arrived at one of my favorite spots I met two of the homeless people that I captured before. While I talked with them Pascal suddenly said “you should capture him”. He pointed at a guy wearing women’s clothes. I recognized the person, I made a picture of him before. I approached the guy and I started a conversation with him.
He turned out to be a real nice person and told me some private stuff. I mentioned that I would love to do a photo-shoot with him and he said “yeah perhaps, during the summer”… After that I continued my walk towards the Jewish quarter.
I made a promising image of a Jewish guy near a pedestrian crossing and after 5 minutes the guy returned and asked me what I was doing? I explained that he was in the image but not recognizable. Then he said…. I don’t mind if you take some pictures of me.
You know what….. After we talked for about 5 minutes he suddenly said “if you like you can take images of my family”. Meet me at my house at 6pm and feel free to make some pictures. Wow!!!
So at 6pm I was – again – at a strangers home and experienced a warm welcome.
Coffee, cakes and chocolate were provided. Then I made some pictures of the Jewish family, in their best outfit.
At the end of the day: a promising capture, very nice people and two subjects with a lot of potential for the future.
This was a very good day!
